We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Manager to lead the design process across high-end, luxury projects at Taymouth Castle Golf & Sport Club. This role is ideally suited to a creative leader with a strong eye for detail, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for delivering world-class design within the luxury hospitality, residential or commercial sectors.
You will oversee the entire design process from concept to completion, ensuring that design integrity and quality standards are achieved. This can only be achieved through collaborative working and acting as the key point of contact between homeowners, project managers and contractors and ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

As Senior Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead prestigious projects, work alongside world-class designers and architects, and make a significant impact within a dynamic and creative environment.
You take responsibility for the management of design through collaborating with all project areas across our portfolio which include Taymouth Castle, Kenmore Village and Glenlyon, and any other DLC properties in the local area. Ensuring timely decisions and design are delivered in line with the planned programme.
You liaise with key project business stakeholders and potential homeowners to guide them with design, planning and building regulations requirements. Creating and developing design briefs and vision plans for project feasibility stage in conjunction with the DLC development team.
Participating in design team and contractor prequalification and selection process to ensure suitable selection of consultants and contractors to meet agreed project requirements. By reviewing the scope of services for design team agreements, ensuring the designers scope of works and design responsibilities are clearly defined and understood.
Effectively manage the designing of the budget in conjunction with the project team. Conducting design reviews at the end of the design stage to ensure that the design is compliant with the brief, design guidelines and operational requirements.
You will visually present stage reviews together with the development team leaders and exhibit to business stake holders and property owners. Conducting build ability reviews and ensure the completeness of design to meet the employer’s requirements in readiness for tendering.
Facilitating project design workshops during the design development phase with design, operations, project management team you confidently provide design solutions. Chairperson at project design meetings with consultants, development team and contractors; resolving any design issues.
Attend value engineering workshops and provide input and advice on proposals. Offering support to the development team during the tender stage advising on any design related queries. Reviewing sample, mock-ups, design proposals and ensuring they comply with both the stake holder and property owner’s requirements and design intent. Responding to any client design related requests whether during the design or the construction phase. And sensitively design solutions to complement existing assets.

A bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field. With Previous experience in design management and architecture, particularly within real estate, new build residential and listed building developments. And a sound knowledge of the Scottish building and planning regulations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders such as property owners, project management companies, design consultants, architects and operators and effectively collaborate with various departments to implement the design projects.
Proficiency in design software with an exceptional understanding of design processes such as CAD systems, drawings, models and RIBA design stages or the equivalent.
A high standard of personal presentation and diligence with exemplary time management. Excellent communication, influencing and people skills with a natural ability to build rapport and strong relationships with high profile clients and stakeholders.
