UCL Arts and Sciences (UASc) is a new department within the Arts and Humanities Faculty at UCL, home to a wide range of academics from interdisciplinary backgrounds. UASc hosts the UK's leading interdisciplinary degree, a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BASc), covering arts, social sciences, and sciences.
The department recently launched a Creative Health MASc, addressing a growing interest in the fields of Arts and Health and social prescribing, with a focus on research-led practice, community engagement, non-clinical approaches to health and wellbeing, and experiential teaching, based at the new UCL East campus in Stratford.
UCL Arts and Sciences also launched a new undergraduate degree, the Bachelor in Creative Arts and Humanities (BACAH), in 2023/24. The Department has a doctoral programme in Interdisciplinary Societies, Arts and Sciences, which accepted its first students in the 2023/24 academic year and aims to grow to 20 doctoral students.
UASc has recently attracted a number of new academics who are establishing world-leading research programmes in topics such as creative health, data science, and One Health.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Programme Coordinator (Health Inequalities) to work with Prof Helen Chatterjee and her team on the AHRC funded grant 'Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities'. The national programme team is responsible for coordinating research and activity across the programme, including liaising with the AHRC and other funders regarding monitoring and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain an effective project management system to ensure oversight of the portfolio of funded projects.
2. Lead on data protection on behalf of the project team.
3. Gather relevant information, data, and intel from a range of partners and key stakeholders.
4. Support the planning and delivery of the programme to meet overall research objectives.
5. Support impact and dissemination, including leading communications activities such as developing content for websites, social media, blogs, and other outlets.
6. Collaborate with the directorate research team and support the preparation and submission of reports and presentations.
7. Support financial oversight of the research directorate budget.
Requirements
Applicants will be educated to degree level and/or have relevant experience, particularly in project, programme, or network coordination and management, including GDPR, data monitoring, and evaluation.
The successful postholder will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven experience in communications, marketing, or media. Strong computer skills, organizational skills, and time management skills are required.
Experience of grants/financial management, knowledge of current topics, research and policies in community-based approaches to health, and experience of cultivating relationships with policy bodies and/or community organisations is desirable.
