Overview
Pragmatic is seeking an outstanding Head of Public Affairs and Press Relations to join its rapidly-growing Marketing team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, this is an exciting position with responsibility for supporting the delivery of operational plans to engage, deliver and promote communications to our core audiences: customers (across the value chain), public sector bodies (government, Industry Associations), media (T1, trade and vertical), industry analysts, talent and investors.
You will lead the lobbying programmes and relationship management with PA targets in the UK. You will be an experienced communications expert who embraces the opportunity to promote a new category, through effective and impactful PA & PR programs to help drive growth, adopting creative innovative approaches, with a keen interest in current affairs, to drive meaningful impact.
You will be required to keep your finger on the PA and media pulse, to take a proactive and opportunistic approach to news hijacking and building relationships with key media/IA, supporting the business in driving a technology leadership position. The role is required to support all functional and operational PA, media and IA initiatives – planning, execution and reporting.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our agency along with the marketing team to optimise marketing impact to reinforce and amplify our unique value proposition and galvanise our position as an innovative FlexIC technology leader.
We offer an excellent benefits package, with relocation assistance available. We would ideally prefer the successful candidate to be able to commute to our Cambridge office for a minimum of three days per week.
Key tasks
* Devise PA strategy and operational programs structured to drive meaningful engagement and impact with key government targets & institutions.
* Own and develop communications & marketing plans to build and develop key relations across PA, PR & IA that amplify messaging and underscore our unique value proposition.
* Own and grow PR interactions spanning Tier 1, trade & vertical publications.
* Explore creative and innovative ways to deliver messaging to our key target groups.
* Support the Director of Corporate Communications to deliver effective communications across 360 marketing programs - co-ordinating across the team - to maximise meaningful results that support the company brand and reputation and ultimately impact business results and performance, supporting revenue & pipeline growth.
* Bring ambitious, creative and proactive approaches to optimise budget & results.
* Budget management responsibility.
* Devise and be responsible for the PA & PR critical metrics and contribute to regular reporting.
Qualifications and training
Degree qualification in communications, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
Skills and experience
* Growth mindset with a proactive, resilient and solution-based approach required for a scale up and driving the business through a period of hyper growth.
* Experienced communication manager with a proven track record of building and delivering B2B PA & PR programmes in the tech sector.
* Experience in semiconductor / RFID sectors (advantage).
* Existing PA & PR relationships (advantage).
* Strategic approach with the ability and desire to roll your sleeves up and drive delivery as and where required.
* Drive to deliver best-in-class PA & PR plans and team collaboration experience to optimize impact.
* Ambition to seek out creative and innovative communication approaches, using an excellent understanding of the latest brand trends & tools.
* Budget and reporting management experience.
* Experience of handling external agencies - Public Relations, Public Affairs, Research.
* A self-starter with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work at pace, and to tight deadlines.
* Outstanding project management skills.
