Salary: £36,000 - £40,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessing Social Worker to join Nexus Fostering's team, covering Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.
Main Purpose
This role will be pivotal to the Recruitment and Assessment Process ensuring timely responses and outcomes for potential fostering households. It will be the link for the fostering households throughout the assessment process in conjunction with and working closely with the local teams.
Responsibilities
The role will be working alongside the assessment team in supporting the organic growth of your region. You will be completing Form F assessments across your area, for applicants interested in fostering and for current foster carers who are wishing to transfer over to Nexus Fostering. There will be an expectation of preparing high quality Form F assessments within set timescales, ready for QA and panel.
The role will also include supporting with the QA of fostering assessments, to ensure these are completed to the required level in preparation for panel and at times, completing Initial Visits to potential applicants and preparing reports from the visit, where professional judgement and decision making will be an essential part of the role.
You will also support your local teams with the delivery of Skills to Foster training.
The successful candidate will manage a case load of up to 7 fostering assessments at one time, therefore will need to be able to organise their work and manage their time effectively to see tasks through to completion.
You will be the consistent link for the prospective fostering households throughout the assessment process, working closely alongside the local teams.
The successful applicant will need to be motivated, disciplined, highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines. Strong presentation skills and a confident articulate style are essential for the running of the Skills to Foster course and attending fostering panels. Sound interpersonal skills with proven experience of completing evidence-based and high quality, analytical assessments is essential.
The successful applicant will also need to be able at times, to work flexible hours to fit with the availability of foster carer applicants. This may at times mean evening and/or weekend working. This flexibility will also be necessary for any evening or weekend Skills courses when these are required.
The role will be home-based. The ability to travel in a timely and effective manner across your region will be essential, therefore this role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence.
