The Ealing Crisis & Home Treatment Team (ECAHTT) are currently offering a Permanent opportunity to a Social Worker, to join the team.
This 9 to 5 role will have a special emphasis around improving access, flow and discharge from the West London Crisis Recovery House (WLCRH). The post entails taking responsibility for assessment and management of service users experiencing a crisis that may, without CAHTT intervention, require a hospital admission. These referrals will be coming from a variety of sources (LPS, Inpatient Wards, Community Teams and other CAHT Teams & SPA). You will be dealing with these referrals that have very specific response times and liaising with relevant professionals. You will also have significant managerial & operational responsibility day to day.
CAHTT is a multidisciplinary team. We work closely with Inpatient Services, SPA, MINT, Early Intervention, Social Services, the Police, Statutory and Voluntary agencies. This would be a really exciting time to join the team as the function of the team is changing and the Band 7 Senior Crisis Care Practitioner role is key to these changes.

Main duties of the job
Regular monthly supervision and reflective practice will be provided. As a Senior Practitioner within the team you will be working shift work 37.5 Hours a week. The post holder should have a variety of significant experience and previous community experience would be ideal.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Full UK Driving licence
* Evidence of post registration further development.
* First or higher degree in appropriate subject area
* ENB 998, 812 or equivalent
Experience
* Significant experience in a variety of MH settings as a qualified practitioner (community, crisis care, or liaison psychiatry)
* Demonstrable experience at band 6 or equivalent.
* Delivering Clinical supervision/reflective practice to nursing as well as other professionals.
* Multi-disciplinary team working.
* Experience of managing and supervising staff
* Experience of contributing to policy and procedure development and implementation
* 6 months working in a CMHT, CRHTT, Liaison nursing, intake service or equivalent.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
* Knowledge of adult and children safeguarding requirements.
* An understanding of the Care Programme Approach and its application
* Knowledge of issues and developments within Mental Health and the National Health Service
* Knowledge of RiO patient record system.
* The post holder must have the ability to understand and implement the Equal Opportunities Policy at a level appropriate for the job.
* Demonstrate knowledge of audit and research.
Skills
* Demonstrate the ability to assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individuals experiencing acute mental distress.
* The ability to use a range of therapeutic interventions with individuals in acute mental health crisis.
* A high level of both written and spoken English language
* Ability to determine and reduce level of risk to self, clients and others.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Declared medically fit by the Occupational Health Department to perform the duties of the post.
* The ability to promote the Home Treatment Team to clients, other professional and non-professional groups.
* Excellent negotiation and influencing skills. The ability to manage conflicts
* Experience of case/workload management.
* Experience and ability to supervise qualified and unqualified staff, including other professionals.
* Experience of developing and delivering teaching and practice development sessions for the team
* Experience of conducting appraisals and personal development planning and of providing feedback in a constructive way
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and of involving users and carers ensuring that nursing practice is culturally sensitive
* Evidence of excellent record keeping, experience of writing reports and acting as an advocate for service users
* I.T. and Database skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet management.
Other Requirements
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to communicate with colleagues and senior staff internal and external to the Trust
* Candidate is able to demonstrate that they are able to show empathy towards individuals with a mental health problem as well as show a positive attitude towards mental health care.
* Possession and evidence of effective leadership skills
* Availability to work a shift rota covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year.
* Monitoring and evaluation skills
* Must hold a Valid Full UK Drivers Licence
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their carers
* Demonstrable ability to network internal and external to the Trust including the wider Health Service and health care providers including GPs
* Ability to use appropriate strategies for managing performance
