We’ve a fantastic opportunity for you to come and join us here in the beautiful Test Valley, working within our excellent Environmental Service team As the Vehicle Workshop Supervisor, you’ll provide daily support to the Vehicle Workshop Manager in planning and coordinating the maintenance of the Council’s fleet of vehicles and plant, ensuring it remains compliant and safe. You’ll also coordinate the work of the vehicle technicians. You’ll carry out the full range of technical duties, while additionally ensuring that service schedules are met You’ll liaise with other managers and supervisors across the council, to ensure that any work required is undertaken in a timely manner, that parts, components and other services are ordered ensuring best value, and that all records are completed accurately and promptly. It’s essential that you have a L3 NVQ in vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience, along with an LGV Category C Licence. You’ll also need experience of vehicle, plant and equipment repair and maintenance, related to a multi-disciplinary operation such as a Local Authority. Working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, as well as members of the public and councillors, you’ll need good communication skills.
