You will predominantly be creating desktop applications to interface with Bedfonts medical devices using USB and Bluetooth protocols. In collaboration with the Graphic Designer, you will design intuitive and user-friendly graphical user interfaces (GUIs), enabling storage of patient results and communicating with hospital systems. Roles and Responsibilities: Design and develop new desktop software applications specifically tailored to interface with Bedfonts new and existing medical devices. Maintain existing desktop software applications. Collaborate with small cross-functional teams, including R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing to define system requirements. Develop user-friendly interfaces for both patients and healthcare providers, enhancing accessibility and usability. Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive patient data in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, Cybersecurity and other regulatory standards. Conduct testing and debugging of applications to ensure reliability and functionality across multiple platforms and devices prior to pre-release testing. Create and maintain documentation throughout the software development process to ensure adherence to industry and medical device standards (such as IEC 62304). Responsible for reporting the latest advancements in software languages, development tools and vulnerabilities. Participate in Technical Team Innovation Days specifically focused on developing cutting-edge technology. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field preferred Mandatory Expertise: Proven 5 years industry experience in software development, with a portfolio of relevant projects Strong programming skills in languages C# and .NET Interfacing with external hardware over Bluetooth and USB protocols Competency in technical documents Experience with minimum .NET 6 (windows) Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Strong communication skills, written and verbal Capability of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment Desirable Expertise: Prior experience in the healthcare, medical device or a regulated industry Experience with database management systems Programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, Java and Dart Familiarity with healthcare IT standards, HIPAA compliance, data privacy laws and specifically IEC 62304 standards for medical software development Experience in HL7 integration A keen interest in engineering, understanding engineering best practices and test methodologies Experience with .NET 6 (macOS) In addition, employees may be required to undertake other duties as may reasonably be required of them.
