Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant with a specialism in autism to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with students requiring individualized support, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work across various schools in Cornwall. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to students with autism, both in the classroom and during other school activities. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment. Monitor and record the students’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents. Employ strategies to support the students' social, emotional, and academic development. Adapt learning materials and resources to suit each student’s unique learning style. Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere, encouraging independence and confidence in the students. Requirements: Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting. Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN Diploma). Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and related strategies for support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children. Desirable: Additional training or certifications related to autism or special educational needs.
