Your role and responsibilities: Eye Vet is a specialist ophthalmology referral practice with an opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our large friendly nursing team, supported by 2 Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) Varied working areas ranging from prep, theatre, recovery, procedures and consultations. No reception work required as there is a dedicated client care team so you can focus solely on nursing. This role offers an excellent work/life balance with shifts between 8.00am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. 1:8 weekends on-call (only called in if needed by the ophthalmologist). Generous OOH payments per case. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be used to working under pressure effectively with high attention to detail and be in a fast-paced environment. Understanding on use of capnography and multiparameter monitors (NIBP, IVPB, capnography, ECG) ventilators and experience in referral practice preferable. No ophthalmology experience is needed as full training is given. We are looking for someone to make an important contribution to our gold standard delivery of patient care. Key Responsibilities: Provision of patient care by undertaking all general nursing duties within the practice Clinical duties include admission/discharge of patients, provision of perioperative medications, assistance in the induction of anaesthesia, monitoring of anaesthesia, preparing patients for surgery, theatre assistance, recovery of patients, instrument cleaning and care. Hours 40 hours per week with OOH on call rota (generous OOH payments) Part-time hours and fixed term contracts can also be considered.
