About the Role
In this role you will be undertaking assessments and devising plans to support young people desist from offending, develop a pro social identity, and improve their access to education and positive activities.
The post holder will work closely with their parents/carers and other agencies to address the reasons they have offended.
The building of trusting relationships, whilst maintaining professional boundaries, will be key to this.
In addition as an YJS Worker you will play a role in the day to day operation of our busy service, working flexibly to support the various functions of the team including covering office duty and delivering group work.
This role relies on the post holder being able to work effectively independently and balance competing demands, both within an office environment and local communities, across Rochdale and Bury.
About you
The successful candidate will have prior experience of supporting young people and the ability to assess need, and devise and implement plans.
Good literacy and IT skills are essential as the provision of high quality case notes and reports is an important part of this role.
In this rewarding but at times challenging role you will need to be resilient and tenacious, whilst working sensitively to support young people and their families who may encounter a number of adverse experiences.
The successful post holder will have a good understanding of the impact of trauma on young people.
You will also need to be able to work flexibly, sometimes out of hours, and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.
