Junior Installation Engineer
Salary - Up to £35k
Job Summary:
The role of Junior Installation Engineer is a key position within the business acting as a link between the Company and our customers. They are very much the face of the Company and must always conduct themselves in a professional and polite manner. The Junior Installation Engineer will liaise and coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers, and others to understand the requirements and needs for a specific installation project. All aspects of the installation works required will be owned and performed by the Junior Installation Engineer, ensuring good and clear communications with other parties as needed, and following and upholding the best practices of the Company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Field execution of work as assigned by Project Manager or Lead Technician Engineer.
2. Responsible for containment installation, cable installation, device installation, head-end build out, system final termination, programming, and testing of the system.
3. Perform basic installation including card readers, door contacts, request to exit devices, control panels, power supplies, and all types of locks including maglocks, strikes, and crash bars.
4. Install intercoms (both analogue and digital), cameras (both analogue and digital), and network-based devices.
5. Read design packs and layout plans, understand system design and wiring.
6. Create field as-built records and updates as-built drawings, along with relevant device testing documentation.
7. Use logic and network essentials (IP addressing, subnets, routing, and basic troubleshooting) in performing the installation.
8. Troubleshoot and use test equipment, meters, computers, and software analysing devices in performing the job.
9. Liaise with the customer and other stakeholders to ensure site works are coordinated, planned, and performed efficiently.
10. Take responsibility for adherence to installation and technical standards on all projects.
11. Ensure all installation works achieve or exceed industry standards and Company best practice guidelines.
12. Provide support to the commissioning team with programming and testing of complex systems.
13. Travel to sites to meet clients and build relationships.
Qualifications:
1. Hands-on experience of installing various enterprise-level access control systems.
2. Hands-on experience of installing enterprise-level CCTV and Video Management Systems.
3. Experience working in customers' live operational buildings (i.e., an office).
4. Experience working on construction sites.
