Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Booker Park School is a primary special school. With 243 pupils on roll, Booker Park caters for primary aged children with a broad diversity of complex needs including profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties. Almost half of the pupils have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition. About the role
The main duties of this position include working with pupils during the lunchtime period. This may include helping pupils develop their social and independence skills, supporting with feeding where necessary following feeding advice, following individual physical and self-care programmes, including the changing of continence wear and helping with toileting. You will also interact with pupils on the school playground encouraging interaction with their peers, taking turns with playtime equipment and promoting good pupil behaviour.
About you
In this role you will be the first point of contact at school for parents, pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be juggling the demands of a busy reception desk, including answering all incoming calls and directing as necessary, welcoming visitors, signing them in using the electronic visitors’ entry system, producing visitors’ passes and checking and recording ID as necessary.
This role also includes providing high quality administrative support as required and these duties will include typing letters to parents, sorting daily incoming post and the prompt checking and distribution of deliveries, all of which contribute to the smooth running of the school office contributing to the overall smooth running of the wider school admin team. External and internal training is provided as appropriate to the role and continued professional development of our staff is encouraged.
