Job Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for sales, driving customer acquisition, and converting leads into sales. You'll play a critical role in developing and maintaining strong relationships within the industry with key customers, commercial partners and producer/industry organisations to identify sales opportunities within the GB and Ireland poultry sector
Duties
* Develop and implement effective Sales strategy
* Establish productive & professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential new clients and business opportunities within the poultry industry
* Lead the activity to generate new business sales, making initial contact, establishing relationships and developing the business
* Prepare, manage and deliver presentations to potential and existing clients.
* Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
* Monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest improvements through undertaking Market Research.
* Maintain customer relationships and ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all the client needs appropriate to their business.
* Oversee Marketing & Promotion of the products and services we offer.
* Researching and keeping up to date with the poultry industry and creating new opportunities to expand the business.
* Steering of product offering & development to suit changes in market
* Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, revenue and monitor financial performance
* Work closely with marketing, sales and product development aligning company goals.
* Motivate and inspire team members
Experience
* Be commercially aware and able to deliver profitable proposals
* Understand how to drive cost of revenue and margins to achieve sales targets
* Have a proven track record of commercial success in sales or similar roles
* Be organised and self-aware, consistently following up on leads and planning ahead
* Drive and commitment to exceeding targets.
* Proven work experience in a sales or business development role within the live poultry industry is essential
* Demonstratable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders
* Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
* Effective communication and relationship building skills
* Full, clean driving license
