About The Role
**Please note this role requires you to work 22 hours per week with a salary of £14,592 pro rata per annum**
Are you passionate about horticulture and eager to share your expertise?
As a Skills Practitioner, you'll be at the heart of our Animal and Land-Based department, providing vital learning/teaching support to both staff and students studying horticulture.
What will you be doing?
* Preparing Resources of Lessons: From setting up practical sessions to maintaining equipment, you'll prepare everything needed for the adult horticulture and apprenticeship programmes.
* Managing the Glasshouse and Horticultural Plots: You'll ensure these areas are maintained to the highest standards, creating an optimal learning environment.
* Assessment and Quality Assurance: You'll undertake these duties to meet the standards required by the College and awarding bodies.
* Liaising with Stakeholders: You'll communicate with internal and external customers/stakeholders, providing valuable feedback to students to aid their progression and achievement.
* Stock Control: You'll manage the ordering and issuing of supplies, ensuring the glasshouse and horticultural courses run smoothly and efficiently.

About You
We are seeking to appoint an organised and efficient member to our team who has excellent communication skills and can facilitate learners on tasks. You will also provide demonstrations as required in class to aid the delivery of outstanding provision within EKC Group.
You will have recent industrial experience in a relevant area. Ideally, you will have experience of education or involvement in training in the workplace. You will be able to work with young people to achieve and succeed their full potential aligned with the culture and ethos of the Group.
You will have a key responsibility for instilling and upholding strong Health & Safety standards in practical environments and will purchase resources and materials within budget. You should hold a relevant Level 2 qualification (such as RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture) or have experience of managing a glasshouse and horticultural spaces. You will also have a flexible approach to work, good organisational ability, and a passion for supporting learners to achieve.
