Regional Asset Engineer - Closes on Friday 6th December

To support the Regional Fleet Manager and provide day-to-day direction for the regional fleet workshops, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction and stakeholder engagement and the successful delivery of all commercial, health and safety, and operational results.
Managing customer requirements (notably re vehicle & Mobile Plant up-time & availability) and the delivery of consistent high levels of service. Also monitoring and improvement of the regions fleet performance using the fleet management system to ensure compliance, maintenance of data integrity and maximise the availability of the fleet assets to the business.
1. Supporting and driving the optimum vehicle availability across the region via continued monitoring and using feedback and information to identify and implement improvements.
2. Responsible for all asset compliance in respect of the current legislation, H&S, ensuring standards of maintenance are carried out in line with company procedures and the OTC, monitor and improve MOT pass rates and workshop performance in line with the relevant business metrics.
3. Manage third party service providers via SLA’s and Biffa compliance procedures this includes but not limited to SLA creation, negotiation of rates and charges and invoice validation.
4. To review financial and operational performance, managing operational assets and/or staff, to deliver a profitable business with great customer service standards.
5. Ensure fleet management system is monitored for accuracy of workshop input including job cards, purchase orders, compliance data and monitor and action any overdue events showing in the system.
6. Actively manage to business performance measures, reviewing and taking appropriate action to ensure optimum return on assets.
7. Accountable for the auditing of Health and Safety within the region in line with the Company health and safety standards, monitor completion of compliance tasks within the workshops including company documentation and legislative documentation.
8. Develop and inspire people to work together to achieve objectives; manage team and individual performance to provide excellent business results.
Here’s what we require:
1. Relevant Technical Qualification is essential.
2. Hold a valid driving licence.
3. Management experience of a B2B service delivery region/area.
4. Previous experience in similar role within fleet business.
5. Knowledge of maintaining vehicles in line with DVSA guide to roadworthiness.
6. Operational knowledge of workshop working practices including all H&S legislation.
7. Understanding the requirements of the Operators Licence.
8. Knowledge of workshop procedures & DVSA testing regime and processes.
9. Keeping abreast of any technical and legislative updates.
10. Good understanding of MOT inspection standards.
11. Experience of managing in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment.
