We are recruiting for a Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team providing system support and project rollout for the company's infrastructure across all sites for a primarily Microsoft house.
The role will involve using your previous experience to propose IT solutions for future projects and manage the business servers, data governance, network, and security. Working closely with various members of the business especially around training and adoption of new systems.
The successful applicant will:
* minimum 5 years' experience of System Administration
* minimum 3 years exposure to Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS (AZ-104 Azure Administrator desirable)
* strong experience with Entra ID, Storage Accounts, Resource Groups, API manager with mindset on resiliency i.e. availability sets and zones and recovery service vaults
* strong network skills specifically around Azure and vendor specialists i.e NSGs, Palo Alto, SD WAN architecture
* good organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills
* good understanding of governance and review
* strong project management skills
* good design and documentation skills
* proactive recommendations for improvement on all systems
* ability to work under own initiative yet work as part of a team when necessary
* calm, confident approach to problem management
* flexibility around working hours when needed
MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:
The main purpose of the role will be to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services. The successful applicant will be responsible for helping with the deployment of applications/services into the Azure cloud environments as we push on with a major migration.
Another critical component will be to ensure documentation is solid and up to date at all points during the migration phases and post-migration too. There will be the expectation to update the internal ticket system and FAQ notes as the project develops.
The day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* research and development of new technologies to help deliver the service for the business
* manage project delivery with relevant documentation i.e. Design, Build, Test and Deploy
* training and adoption for end users of new systems
* managing acquisition onboarding
* provide support to the Service Desk and Cloud Administrators and act as a technical escalation point
