The trust has 28 beds - combined level 3 (ICU) and level 2 (HDU), we care for a wide range of adult critically ill medical and surgical emergency and elective cases. The units have an excellent nursing skill mix where you will have the opportunity of working in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
We have a fully comprehensive career pathway offering induction, preceptorship and critical care qualifications as well as advanced clinical skills and leadership opportunities for experienced staff. We have a critical care nurse consultant and clinical nurse educators to support you and there are many opportunities to be involved in service improvement and research projects.
Main duties of the job
The main duties part can include: Coordinator/shift leader focusing on patient care, staff allocation/staff scheduling, communicating with the MDT and ensuring quality standards are met in-line with GPICS and ICS. To ensure the overseeing and smooth running of the unit, including admissions/discharges, monitoring complex medical situations and coordinating necessary interventions with the MDT.
