Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on Engineering Delivery Manager to lead delivery for one of the departments within the State Street Charles River Development (CRD)/ Alpha Platform Engineering organization. This is a strategic role that will report into the Head of Engineering Delivery within the CRD/ Alpha CTO Organization. The ideal candidate is a leader able to establish engineering delivery execution model, oversee large book of work ($50MM ) that includes planning, execution, and control adherence. The candidate will also support the department leader by providing oversight of the headcount, statements of work, and will collaborate with Finance to ensure the spend aligns with the budget. The goal is to ensure that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organization, capacity is allocated to the top priority efforts, and that any barriers to optimal team execution are identified and addressed. Responsibilities Book of Work and Roadmap Management: oversee planning, book of work structure definition and governance. Engineering Delivery: Run initiatives and programs in the Engineering Delivery organization, ensure adherence to the SDLC standards and best project management and Agile practices. The Book of Work may include client implementations, product development, audit response, and tech debt remediation efforts. Ensure all programs have clear Objectives/Key Results and measurable KPIs to assess progress. Collaborate with Engineering and Product owners to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope to efficiently deliver on shared goals. Create plans and roadmaps, identify and escalate risk to the portfolio. Implement appropriate org. change management practices. Agile Execution : Support the organization by implementing best practices for scrum team structure and execution. Leveraged standard Agile metrics to identify areas of risk, under/over utilization, determine coaching needs, perform assessments. May deliver Agile education as needed Capacity Management : manage a complete view of headcount Key Performance Metrics (KPIs): measure the progress vs. established targets, identify key areas of risk, drive transparency and accountability, and improvements Vendor Management: oversee key vendor contracts Requirements and skills 10 years of experience successfully implementing and leading engineering delivery Prior experience of overseeing portfolios $50MM inclusive of managing resources, book of work governance, strategy definition, and planning Hands -on experience running cross-functional, ideally global, programs with budget over $20MM Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, influencing decision-making Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods Practical knowledge of Agile and Scaled Agile methodology and SAFe Agilist, SAFe Coach certifications are a big plus Knowledge of MS Office and program/project management software (MS Project, Jira etc.) Ability to learn and absorb technical information Outstanding leadership and organizational skills Excellent nuanced communication skills Excellent problem-solving ability BSc/BA degree in, Engineering, Math, Science; MSc/MA is a plus About State Street: What we do: State Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world.
