We are currently recruiting Children & Family Support Assistants to join our teams at Intensive Services where you will provide intensive support for care experienced young people and increased support to children and young people to support them remain at home in line with the Children Services Plan for North Lanarkshire and The Promise (The Independent Care Review). As a member of our Children & Families team and in partnership with other agencies, you will provide advice, support and practical assistance to children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes i.e. to remain living within their community, improve their quality of life including health and wellbeing or to decrease the vulnerability factors and manage risk as part of their overall plan.
Engaging positively with children, young people and their families is critical to this post so we need someone who has excellent communication skills including oral, listening and written. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and solution focused and has the ability to remain calm and work under pressure at times. If you are compassionate and can demonstrate a commitment to working with children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes then this job is ideal for you.
An HNC, SVQ3 in Social Care or equivalent in a relevant discipline and moderate experience of working within a social work/social care setting are essential as are ICT and report writing skills.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
As a member of the Intensive Services, you would participate in a rota that is devised to manage the service across 7 days a week including evenings and weekends to ensure the right support is available to children, young people and their families when they need it. These posts attract non-core hour enhancements for relevant hours.
Work pattern:
1. 1 Permanent Post - 37 hours per week
2. 1 Permanent Post - 18.5 hours per week
3. 2 Temporary Posts - 37 hours per week
