Our claims professionals work closely with injured workers, policy holders, medical professionals, and others to investigate losses, determine compensability, evaluate, and mitigate exposure and ensure appropriate care and resources are applied to the claims they manage. The ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment; possess excellent communication skills to conduct investigations and collaborate effectively with customers and claimants and stay organized and attentive to the claims you manage is essential.
Responsibilities include:
* Investigates and makes the correct compensability decision on claims.
* Actively collaborates with employers, medical providers, and injured workers to secure timely recovery and return-to-work.
* Ensure medical treatment plans are appropriate and causally related to the accepted work injury.
* Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate to resolution.
* Manage litigation that arises on assigned claims.
* Partner with manager on claims where there may be a litigated matter in dispute.
* Use critical thinking skills to design and execute a strategy to resolve claims with best possible outcome when the trajectory of the claim is mostly clear.
* Set and maintain appropriate reserves and issue appropriate payments accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of skills, experience, and competencies.
* Candidates that are fluent in Spanish and English are encouraged to apply.
* Experience managing MA and RI workers’ compensation claims. RI Adjusters License will be required within 2 months of hire. CT Adjusters license is a plus.
* Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse personalities.
* Attention to detail is a must!
