The Safeguarding Practitioner is an experienced specialist practitioner with in-depth knowledge of adults at risk and child protection and advanced analytical skills for safeguarding acquired through specialist courses and experiential learning from interagency work.
The main purpose of this post is to primarily work with the Safeguarding Childrens function of the team however there is an aspiration for practitioners to be able to work across both adult and children’s functions in the future.
The adult and children’s safeguarding teams are based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital but have responsibility for working with acute and community services provided, which will therefore require travel trustwide.
This post will work within a bigger team in order to provide:
• expert advice and support for colleagues in relation to safeguarding adults and child protection concerns
• safeguarding adults and child protection training for all colleagues
• safeguarding adults and child protection supervision for colleagues
• effective communication channels with the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adults and Children's boards
• robust internal policies and guidelines for safeguarding adults.
