GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Newham, providing invaluable support to the school's SEN provision. This role involves working closely with children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support they require to thrive both academically and socially. As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be a key member of the support team, working collaboratively with teachers and staff to deliver a high standard of care and education. SEN TA Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Assist with nappy changing and personal care, where required, to ensure children's comfort and safety. Help implement individualised support plans and learning objectives for students. Support students in developing essential skills such as communication, social interaction, and independence. Work alongside teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment. Promote positive behaviour and encourage students’ personal development. Record and monitor students' progress, helping adjust support strategies as necessary. What we need from an SEN Teaching Assistant: Prior SEN experience in a school or educational setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar. A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field. Ability to assist with nappy changing and personal care as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team. A caring and patient attitude, with a focus on the welfare of students.
