The important bits:
* Position: Planned Repairs Manager
* Location: Blaenau Gwent, South East Wales (Hybrid Working)
* Salary: £50,000 - £51,000 per annum
* Hours: 37 hours per week (Flexible working)
* Holidays: 25 days' holiday + 2 Christmas shutdown days + bank holidays (35 days in total)
* Type: Permanent
About the opportunity:
In this newly created role, you'll lead a skilled team of Technical Officers, oversee inspections, and ensure homes meet the highest standards.
From the Renting Homes (Wales) Act to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS), your knowledge will be key to delivering safe, secure, and well-maintained properties across the Gwent region.
You'll manage budgets, oversee contractors, produce compliance reports, and represent the organisation at hearings when needed. This role offers real variety—combining team leadership, technical expertise, and the chance to shape how compliance is delivered at a strategic level.
You'll get the freedom to shape your team and lead meaningful change.
What you'll need to be successful:
* Detailed knowledge of building construction, housing compliance, and property inspection processes.
* Confidence in leading teams.
* Skilled in managing risk, with a proven ability to work with contractors, residents, and internal teams to resolve complex issues like damp, mould, and disrepair.
* Understanding of the importance of tenant satisfaction and pride in delivering services that meet people's needs—not just regulatory tick boxes.
* A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
