Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Department for Mathematics to join our school in Milton Keynes. This is a permanent position, offering an exciting opportunity to lead a successful department, while also delivering high-quality maths lessons to students across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and develop the Mathematics department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
2. Oversee curriculum planning, development, and assessment, ensuring alignment with school goals and educational standards.
3. Provide support and guidance to teaching staff within the department, promoting professional development and best practices.
4. Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring strategies are in place to support underachieving students.
5. Teach Mathematics to students across a range of age and ability levels, taking on full teaching responsibilities, including lesson planning, marking, and reporting.
6. Foster a positive learning environment and promote a passion for mathematics among students.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
2. Proven experience teaching Mathematics across key stages, with the ability to lead and inspire a department.
3. Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in curriculum development and student assessment.
4. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate both staff and students.
5. A commitment to raising standards and delivering excellent results in the subject.
