Exciting opportunity – Senior Residential Worker needed in our Outstanding children’s home!
Wakefield is ambitious for children and has adopted an innovative approach throughout its 2 bed residential model.
Many children are misplaced into children’s homes due to a national shortage of foster placements. This leads to vulnerable young people being placed a long way from home and not always achieving the best outcomes.
To support this, we are seeking to appoint a suitably skilled, qualified, and motivated Senior Residential Worker to work alongside the Assistant Manager and Homes Manager to lead and develop our home, working with two children aged between 7 – 17 years old.
An excellent understanding of the needs of children in care, with a clear ambition to provide outstanding services for the children we look after, is required. We will provide you with excellent supervision, appraisal, ongoing training, and support in obtaining your management qualification awards.

Previous experience of trauma-informed practices, therapeutic caring, and connective parenting are desirable although full training will be provided. It is essential that you are kind, caring, patient, resilient, and can see the need behind behaviors.
You should be committed to improving the life chances of the children and young people and share our ethos of never giving up and a full team around the child approach.
