Role Overview:
We are seeking a DV-cleared Cyber Security Engineer with extensive experience in Palo Alto firewall technologies to support a high-security government or defence project. This role requires deep expertise in network security, firewall administration, and security operations, ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
* Design and implement zero-trust security architectures and next-gen firewall policies.
* Conduct threat analysis, incident response, and risk assessments to enhance security posture.
* Work closely with SOC teams, DevSecOps, and cloud security engineers to integrate security best practices.
* Implement automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for security operations and firewall policy management.
* Ensure compliance with NCSC, NIST, and security frameworks.
* Perform penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and remediation of identified security risks.
* Support SIEM integration and log analysis for threat intelligence and proactive defence.
* Active DV Clearance
* Strong Palo Alto Networks experience (firewall deployment, troubleshooting, and policy configuration).
* Expertise in network security, VPNs, SSL/TLS, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
* Proficiency in cloud security (AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments).
* Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and security automation tools.
* Knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+, and NIST frameworks.
* Ability to conduct forensics analysis, incident response, and threat intelligence.
* Experience in high-security environments (MoD, defence, or government projects).
Nice to Have
* Palo Alto Certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE).
* Experience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Juniper firewalls.
* Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OSCP.
* Knowledge of SOAR platforms (Splunk Phantom, Cortex XSOAR)
