About the team
YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school.
The Y Queensland’s childcare services have been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years.
We are now seeking a Business Support Officer on a fixed term (Maternity Leave Cover), 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, until 30th of May, 2025.
As the Business Support Officer, you will be based at our Stafford office as well as periodically visiting our OSHC services and flexible work arrangements.
About the role
Supporting the Business Development Manager at our team in Outside School Hours Care, the Business Support Officer will be responsible for a range of tasks with the aim to ensure the retention of existing OSHC services and contribute to the procurement of new services.
What will my time look like?
Provide business Support
* Assist the Business Development Manager by formatting, designing and populating the tender template ensuring high quality content and design.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to generate information to develop a successful tender offer.
* Research schools that have gone to market on key information as required by the BDM, develop an assessment / analysis of information including any competitor information.
* Generate technical, persuasive and creative writing techniques to support the quality of the tender document.
* At times and where appropriate, may be required to attend site visits and meet with external stakeholders.
* Support any event planning and attendance at key marketing events for partner schools and their communities, key stakeholders and peak bodies relevant to acquisition and retention of OSHC services.
* Assist with any new service openings or marketing expos to promote the Y. Willingness to work the occasional weekend or after hours at key stakeholder events/conferences/dinners and new OSHC service set ups.
Marketing AND communication
* Continually review and maintain OSHC and Children’s Services marketing collateral. Ensure it is current, relevant and in line with OSHC marketing strategy and approved budget.
* Use programs such as Lucidpress and Photoshop to design, produce and create content that has a high visual impact and is consistent with brand guidelines.
* Coordinate and plan content including testimonials, photography, videos and articles on digital platforms including social media and website.
* Oversee content design and development, playing an active role in editing and authoring experiences across a range of digital mediums.
* Contribute to relationships with school by engaging with and producing relevant marketing materials to increase attendance and make the Y known and visible.
* Design Editor in the development of Services Newsletters and Vacation Care Programs.
* Support the dissemination of any communications to schools and families as directed by the Management team.
Am I a good match?
* Experienced in marketing material development and design in digital and hard copy formats;
* Sound experience in an administration or similar type of role in a medium to large organisation;
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
* High level of oral and written communication and possessing a high attention to detail;
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum direction and as part of a team;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality;
* The ability to organize, multitask and prioritize;
* Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously;
* Initiative and be solutions focused with good time management skills;
* Sound knowledge of computer systems including an ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs with particular focus on formatting word documents;
* Professionally presented;
* Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000;
* Achievement of YMCA’s Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training;
* A relevant qualification in Business at a Certificate level;
* Previous experience working in the Community Sector (preferably OSHC or similar Child Care);
* Previous experience in Research and data sourcing;
* Experience representing organisation in media, corporate and community activities;
* Highly confident Networking ability.
