Here at Lifeways in Longton, we are looking for Support Workers to join our fantastic team. Ideally, you will have previous experience in Care/Support Work; however, if you are new to the role and have a passion for helping others lead their most independent lives, Lifeways can offer you excellent training and ongoing support to enable you to enjoy a rewarding career with us.
Longton has a residential property and has been a residential service for over 20 years. The service is located on the outskirts of Longton town centre and is serviced by great bus routes. Longton train station is a ten-minute walk from the home, and Stoke Drive is a 15-minute drive from the home.
5 out of the 6 PWS who reside at the service have been here for over 20 years, and they know the layout of their home very well. The home is vast and spacious for wheelchair users, with a number of communal areas and PWS own private bedrooms with decoration of choice.
PWS enjoy meals out at the local pub, cinema visits, bowling, gardening and garden activities. PWS have a therapy dog, Bessie, who lives in the home (staff on duty need to like dogs). There is an individual support plan, PEEPS, and R/A. Activities include holidays, day trips, Stoke City football club matches, watching films, playing bingo, music activities, shopping, arts and crafts, and cake and coffee in the community.
