We have a new 8a role overseeing our staff and patient care in our spacious new unit following the promotion of our previous leader.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure compassionate leadership and maintenance of an excellent quality of care for our patients. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills to enable proactive multidisciplinary relationships. You must be committed to staff development of all grades. The team will provide holistic patient care within the financial envelope of the department to support the Trust financial plan for 2024/5.

Person Specification
General
* Ability to work clinically
* Ability to work clinically in the critical care
Suitability for band 8 a matron critical care
* Masters degree or equivalent
* Previous team leader and manager
* Mentorship or equivalent course
* NM registration as a general and critical care nurse
* ILS or higher qualification
* Previous experience as a budget manager
* Evidence of excellent communication skills
* Counselling course
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Evidence of IT literacy
Clinical Skills
* Completed critical care course or equivalent
* Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the unit
Personal skills
* Approachable and able to demonstrate advanced communication skills
* Describes ability to manage complex communication scenario
* Leadership course
* Can evidence problem solving skills
Research and Audit
* Has completed a research or audit formal qualification
* Evidence of interest in leading on audit or research
