Harvey’s Brewery is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our free trade sales team. In this role, you will represent our independent, family-run company across parts of Sussex and Surrey, maintaining and expanding our customer base. Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with our existing customers.
Identify and secure new business opportunities.
Provide exceptional product support, ensuring correct dispensing and product quality.
2. Sales and Business Development:
Actively prospect for new business opportunities within your territory.
Promote and sell Harvey’s Brewery products, ensuring alignment with company credit control policies.
Represent Harvey’s Brewery at trade shows and customer events, occasionally outside normal working hours.
3. Administrative Duties:
Keep customer records up-to-date.
Complete all relevant information for the company’s CRM and back-office systems.
4. Brand Representation:
Uphold and promote the good name of Harvey’s Brewery.
Maintain strong working relationships with customers, staff, and suppliers.
Operate within the company’s trading guidelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide exceptional customer service daily.
2. Foster strong relationships with existing and potential customers and resolve any customer queries.
3. Sell Harvey’s beer range, lagers, ciders, and extensive wine range to drive sales and profit.
4. Set up and maintain a regular call plan for visiting existing customers and prospecting new business opportunities.
5. Provide relevant reports to the Sales Manager.
6. Make sales pitches and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
7. Collaborate closely with the sales team and Sales Manager.
8. Meet and exceed objectives through effective sales performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an area sales manager or in a field sales manager role.
2. Extensive knowledge of the licensed on-trade.
3. Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
4. Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
5. Full clean driving license.
6. Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Experience in working with and influencing others.
9. Ability to consult and negotiate with both internal and external customers.
10. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
11. Strong work ethic and ability to work well with little supervision.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience with common customer relation software.
2. Knowledge of wine would be an advantage.
3. Willingness to travel on the job when the situation demands it.
