Job summary We are looking for a resilient, enthusiastic, motivated and proactively driven individual to fulfil the role of Rota Coordinator within our Women & Children's Division. You will be required to provide an excellent administrative service to the Operational and Medical teams within our Women's Services and Paediatric Services. Acting as the first point of contact for any medical staffing enquiries within the department you will have the responsibility for the provision of a safely staffed medical team. You will entail creating and maintaining complex medical rotas, sourcing locum medical staff to within budgetary limits, processing medical leave and sickness records for medical staff, organisation of regular junior doctor rotations and a variety of other tasks required to provide the department with an efficient medical staffing service. This is full time, fixed term/secondment post until 31/12/2025 We might close the advert earlier if sufficient amount of applications received. Main duties of the job To provide support to the Women & Children's Divisions' Clinical Directors / Clinical Leads / Associate Directors of Operations / General Managers in providing effective medical cover. To effectively plan, create and maintain medical rotas, using Allocate, Medirota and Excel software ensuring compliance with the latest contracts, guidelines and departmental operational requirements. Ensuring where possible rotas are completed and published six weeks in advance. To provide information relating to rotas in a timely manner as directed, highlighting to the relevant Operational Teams any non-compliance with rotas by senior and junior staff. To record and manage medical staff annual leave requests ensuring that annual leave and study leave are approved and policies are adhered to. Taking responsibility for ensuring all key shifts are covered and adequate ward cover levels are maintained whilst working within budgetary limits. Ensuring appropriate cover is arranged for any medical staff rota gaps and vacant shifts by ensuring internal cover is arranged via the Trust staff bank where appropriate. Where this is not possible liaising with the Trust's external locum provider of choice, ensuring agency rates adhere to the agreed Trust capped rates.
