Maintenance Engineer (4on 4 off Shift) /Permanent/ Thetford - salary up to £47,897K depending on experience.
Position 1 Recruitment are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our client food manufacturing site.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Minimising downtime, maximising efficiency, and ensuring the reliability of automated machinery.
2. Responding to breakdowns and performing preventative maintenance.
3. Troubleshooting PLC systems and completing electrical installations.
4. Participating in project work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate to a high degree of both Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards.
2. Operate within HSE protocols e.g. Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, Standard Operating Procedures.
3. Ensure lock off procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
4. Carry out small projects and modifications as required within any projects.
5. Quickly assess the nature of a breakdown and act accordingly.
6. Share proposals for improvements across the site.
7. Develop, create and implement maintenance SOPs.
8. Carry out PPM inspections and maintenance, and perform corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis.
9. Perform general maintenance as required, which can include lubrication tasks/schedules.
Qualifications:
The successful Maintenance Engineer will have mechanical and electrical experience in manufacturing environments, competency in PLCs, and an aptitude for fault diagnosis. The candidate will possess recognised engineering qualifications, such as City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines, and be able to work independently, taking full responsibility for their tasks and actions.
This is a full-time position with a 4 on 4 off shift schedule, including nights. Benefits include 23 days of annual holiday, free on-site parking, a quarterly attendance bonus of £200, and life insurance.
