Our client, a well-established specialist in Energy generation equipment, is currently looking to recruit a Technical Manager who will oversee a range of engineering and commercial aspects crucial to the company's effective running. In order to secure this candidate, they are offering a competitive salary of up to £57,000, a generous holiday package totaling 33 days (including bank holidays), and other benefits such as private healthcare.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical/Electrical background, proven team management experience, will be qualified in Engineering, and will be based within a commutable distance of Salford.
Technical Manager Job Overview
1. Lend expertise to all departments to ensure optimized scheduling, maximized production with low operating costs.
2. Advise and regularly forecast costs for in-house and externally sourced Operation and Maintenance, refurbishment and/or modification of customer's equipment.
3. Product development, selection proposal, supply, and cost reduction.
4. Liaise with potential clients providing the technical resource to facilitate solutions.
5. Manage the technical aspects and assist with the negotiation of supply chains.
6. Ensure continual, efficient scheduling, execution, and recording of equipment maintenance.
7. Actively identify engineering challenges and submit proposals for upgrades/downgrades.
8. Provide detailed failure evaluation reporting.
9. Ensure tests and work procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated, and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
10. Ensure that engineering/product suppliers are audited to improve their quality of service.
11. Ensure levels of stock are adequate and controlled for the needs of the business.
Technical Manager Job Requirements
1. Strong knowledge and experience of mechanical/electrical plant operation and maintenance.
2. Proficient in work scheduling, operation, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
3. Qualified in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
4. Proven supervision and management experience.
5. Expertise in managing and negotiating technical supply contracts with suppliers.
6. Experience of operating and maintaining a wide range of equipment and generators.
7. Experience with solar and energy storage facilities.
8. Full UK driving licence.
9. Based within a commutable distance of Salford.

Salary: £52,000-£57,000
Working hours: 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday
