Quality Assurance Specialist
This is a minimum 6 Month Fixed Term position.
Key Responsibilities
To take a leading role in day-to-day quality assurance activities and support the QA Manager by providing direction and guidance to the Bakery workforce. The role will provide feedback on product quality, customer complaints, and internal audit results.
Main Accountabilities:
* Conduct quality inspections on finished products, trial samples, reference samples, and end-of-life buns.
* Lead data analysis and interpretation of bun scoring sessions and product quality checks in conjunction with site personnel.
* Communicate bun score results every shift to adjust the production process.
* Check products against customer specifications.
* Highlight product quality issues to the person in charge of production.
* Quarantine and raise non-conformances for rejected sub-standard products and investigate where necessary.
* Communicate bun score improvements to the Quality Manager and Manufacturing Team.
* Assist with bun sample selections for Bun Cuttings/Training.
* Generate reports as required for bun scores, QDA, and eyepro.
Accountabilities
To actively promote food safety, hygiene, and quality standards to achieve corporate audit results and communicate quality and food safety standards throughout the bakery.
Participate in weekly audits and ensure actions from internal audits are recorded and corrective actions followed up by relevant departmental managers.
Ensure all critical control points (CCPs) and processes are adhered to and issue Non-Conformities where necessary. Communicate to QA Manager and Shift Manager.
Verification of production process records and participating in hygiene verification – Swabbing of production lines to required frequency.
Coordinate customer complaints, contact restaurants, and conduct investigations to assist in reducing customer complaints and identifying root causes of problems.
Conduct verification checks of process parameters, pH, TTA, dough weights, bake-out weights, and eyepro parameters – communicating problems where necessary.
Carry out weekly finished product traceability exercises.
Person Specification
Educated to GCSE Level and hold food/QA-related qualifications.
HACCP Training.
Internal Auditor Training.
Experience of working in a FMCG environment.
Computer Skills – PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
An aptitude for problem-solving is required.
A minimum of two years' experience in a QA role is required.
