Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Location: Wicstun Group (Wicstun Hospital, Market Weighton, Beverly & Norwood)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent (Part-time applications are welcome to discuss the ideal rota for you and can be flexible.)
Hours: 40
Your role and responsibilities
Due to our continued development and success, we are looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to the team as part of the Wicstun Group. We would welcome any certificate holders or individuals working towards or looking to start a certificate. Equally, the position would suit someone looking to consolidate their skills as a high-quality GP.
Any one of our branches or Hospital could suit a more recent graduate looking for a supportive environment with an exciting caseload. You will be working alongside our experienced and hands-on nursing team many of whom hold further qualifications.
Any candidate will find us an experienced, forward-thinking, friendly, and encouraging team who are constantly striving to improve standards for our patients, their owners, and our colleagues. There is the opportunity for flexibility in your working hours so please talk to us about your requirements if you feel we may be the right fit for you.
The word team is often thrown about but that is exactly what we are, from our admin team to our incredibly experienced nurses and our vets. We would invite any veterinary surgeon interested to spend a day with anyone of our teams so you can appreciate exactly what we mean. We have all the usual toys and more beyond with CT and Laparoscopic procedures along with orthopaedic procedures being regularly performed.
You would be part of a fantastic and progressive team with support available from certificate holders in internal medicine, imaging, behaviour and surgery. We also have vets completing certificates in ophthalmology and cardiology to name a few. Our range of interests mean that the majority of cases from medical work ups to intricate orthopaedic procedures are carried out here by our own vets for our own clients.
There is the opportunity for flexibility in your position whether that be biasing your work towards inpatient care, surgery, or a consulting-only position. We have a night team meaning out-of-hours can be optional depending on your interest. Having our own team of night vets and nurses enables us to work up our cases thoroughly, supporting our clients with continuity of care and giving our team real case satisfaction, seeing the most complex of cases through to completion.
We have several branches that support our hospital allowing our veterinary team the option of working in different locations all of which are progressive, supportive with a varied and interesting caseload. Our rota offers a great work/life balance and a generous package.
We value our team and therefore your personal circumstances matter to us and are happy to consider all working patterns to suit you, and your life.
