Key responsibilities
1. Plan, organize and manage small construction projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring progress.
2. Liaise with clients, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all parties are aware of project timelines, budgets, and expectations.
3. Manage project teams, including recruiting, training, and assigning tasks to team members.
4. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
5. Ensure quality standards are met throughout the project and work with the quality control team to carry out inspections and tests.
6. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure project milestones are met.
7. Manage project budgets and prepare financial reports.
8. Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
9. Maintain accurate project records, including documentation, correspondence, and project files.
10. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and financial reports.
11. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Skills & experience
12. Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
13. Proven experience as a small works manager or similar role.
14. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
15. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
16. Strong leadership and team management skills.
17. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
18. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
19. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
20. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
21. Valid driver's license.
