Household is Admiral’s fastest growing product with bags of opportunity still to realise in Loss Ratio and Customer Experience - it has big plans! Situated within the Household Data Insights team and working closely with Household’s Senior Management, this leadership role will ensure we use data for strategic advantage as well as effective operations and will be integral to the department’s success.
This is a Data Insights Manager role where you would be be working alongside other Data Leads/Managers within the department to collectively fulfill the responsibilities.
Main Duties
Lead the team of HH analysts to:
1. Understand the strategy and business plan to deliver against key priorities.
2. Work in an agile environment handling multiple tasks, set priorities, communicate backlogs, and work to deadlines.
3. Attend appropriate steering and working groups.
4. Engage with HH Claims and Core to establish accurate, effective and timely reporting – ensuring the most value is obtained from our operational reporting suite in Looker by understanding customer reporting needs and their current utilisation of data outputs.
5. Provide proactive, comprehensive, insightful analysis and communication of key data and potential areas of interest to HH leadership.
6. Work to develop a framework where both policy data and claims data are used in conjunction; utilising Google Cloud Platform and Looker to identify trends.
7. Develop a strong knowledge of HH Claims/Core operations.
Personal Responsibilities
8. Identifying training needs among Analysts, demonstrating best practice, and maintaining team morale and well-being.
9. Develop talent within your area by setting priorities and targeted objectives.
10. Be responsible for ensuring high level department reporting is relevant and accurate.
11. Ensure required data from internal systems, suppliers and other external sources is accessible, utilised and well governed.
12. Keep up to date with potential projects and assist in the prioritisation through providing appropriate metrics (value, effort, customer impact, etc).
13. Work with the HODs and the Change facilitators to ensure integrity of tests/project ROI to ensure they have a measurable outcome.
14. Oversee and/or develop business cases for projects and initiatives.
15. Responsible for senior stakeholder data commentary and ensuring the MI team conduct effective investigation of data patterns.
16. Be an expert in the data available and how it can be used to answer business problems.
17. Identify potential operational and product areas which could be improved.
18. Assist with internal data products as an expert in HH data ( Analytics, Fraud, Pricing, etc.)
19. Be the key point of contact when liaising with DLH and Data Tribe to ensure data provisioning, servicing, and pipelines are fit for purpose.
20. Liaise with Finance to ensure there is a robust process in place for modelling, forecasting and estimating the cost of department resource requirements.
Skills/Experience required
21. Strong knowledge of Household data and/or processes.
22. Analytical and Management experience.
23. Proven track record of strategic contribution.
24. Effective senior stakeholder management.
25. Experience in delivering business cases or leading change with appraisals of the effectiveness of change activity.
