Selection for this rewarding role is demanding and consists of several clinical scenario assessments as well as group work and a formal interview. An assessment event will be held at one of the ACCTS operational bases at a date to be confirmed.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Training
Essential Criteria
1. Full GMC registration with license to practice and up to date appraisal/revalidation.
2. Successful completion of relevant life support/resuscitation/trauma courses previously.
Desirable Criteria
1. Completed intermediate level training / Stage 2 training in Anaesthesia/ICM OR ST5 equivalent practice.
2. Substantive Consultant post within Wales.
3. Diploma in Retrieval and Transfer Medicine.
4. Clinical fellowship in a Retrieval System (Overseas/Military/UK).
5. Higher Degree (MD/MSc).
6. Post graduate qualification in medical education.
7. Experience in FAST scanning or bedside echocardiography.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Competence in management of acute illness and injury in adults.
2. Competent in the assessment, resuscitation and stabilisation of critically unwell patients including emergency anaesthesia, ventilation and invasive monitoring.
3. Sound judgement and decision making.
4. Ability to manage complex work and prioritise effectively.
5. Good understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
Desirable Criteria
1. Previous attendance on an EMRTS/ACCTS clinical attendant scheme, and/or prior engagement with the EMRTS service.
2. Evidence of relevant teaching/instructing in critical care or transfer.
Experience (Should be within 5 years)
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrate interest in and understanding of transfer medicine.
2. Experience of extensive inter- and intra-hospital critical care transfers.
3. Experience of critical care transfer and retrieval and/or pre-hospital emergency medicine in dedicated service.
4. Experience in post-graduate/multidisciplinary education.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience using simulation for education.
2. Prior experience working in within a trauma centre.
3. Prior experience with evidence of working within an established pre-hospital aeromedical or road-based service.
4. Prior experience with evidence of working within an established secondary retrieval service.
5. Experience as a clinical tutor or lecturer at post graduate level.
Personal Attributes
Essential Criteria
1. Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in both the hospital and transport environments.
2. Ability to maintain CPD to a high standard.
Desirable Criteria
1. Ability to speak Welsh.
