The Role: As one of our Network Engineers, you’ll play a crucial role in contributing to the ongoing design, deployment, and management of all the key network elements that underpin our FTTH Internet Service. You will be based at our Portsmouth HQ and travelling, when necessary, to our core data centres and network Point of Presence (PoPs) sites. Your expertise will ensure our network delivers exceptional service so you should have a good working knowledge of FTTH platforms. Juniper certified experience is essential for this role. Your Key Responsibilities: Plan, deploy, and configure Layer 2 and 3 network elements (routers, switches, CGNAT, firewalls/VPNs, OLTs) Manage and optimise traffic and configure peering and transit connections Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, addressing deficiencies or capacity shortfalls and implementing corrective actions Diagnose and resolve faults, including escalations from our helpdesk Perform in-life management of network elements (hardware/software upgrades, security configuration & patching, and technology refresh) Collaborate with third-party vendors and technical support teams Stay ahead of emerging technologies to enhance our ultra-fast broadband services Maintain network documentation (HLD/LLD) and operational best practices. Provide operational support across our Technology teams. What You’ll Bring: 5 years in network engineering within a service provider (ISP) environment Extensive hands-on experience with Juniper devices (command line expertise essential) Deep understanding of: - IPv4/IPv6 and routing protocols (internal and external) - EVPN, MPLS, and VXLAN - CGNAT, DHCP, DNS, and GPON networks Strong troubleshooting and performance-monitoring expertise on large networks Working knowledge of FTTH platforms, particularly OLTs Network security principles and practical implementation. Juniper JNCIS-SP (preferred) and/or JNCIS-ENT certifications Proven experience with Network Management Systems and tools A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle Have the right to work in the UK without restriction.
