The role is to provide engineering solutions, primarily through hands-on reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance schedules on the production plant & equipment at our IPG filling plants. You will deal with sub contractors and design authorities who will assist in the execution of maintenance work according to engineering best practices, procedures, standards and IMS to ensure 100% compliance in all areas. Keeping accurate up to date records of equipment calibration and certification is a key part of this role. You will also assist in managing small installation improvement projects across the whole IPG operation. The role will involve traveling between other IPG plants across the country to assist and cover other regional IPG Engineers if required.
Your Duties:
* Perform on time maintenance via constructive planning with the production team and sub-contractor.
* Undertake maintenance work as per procedures and standards, along with engineering best practices, mainly including the repair and replacement of parts on cryogenic pumps and Industrial packaged gas filling systems.
* Carry out daily, weekly and monthly inspections and record using the dedicated computer maintenance management system. Communicate and report potential production and/or safety related problems that may affect people (employees and surrounding public), the business and the assets.
* Provide a "Can do" service to the production department.
* Manage local site spare parts efficiently to maintain stock levels in line with budget expectations. Ensure all statutory inspections are logged.
* File relevant paperwork accordingly for safe keeping.
* Write reports on defects or recurring issues.
* Provide accurate information to support the Capex process.
* Ensure all quality and safety procedures are followed.
* Work with the Engineering Team to define and formulate solutions for obsolescence and upgrades.
* Assess every job individually. Observe the work area and report any unsafe conditions or behavior to your line manager, proposing corrective actions.
* Participate in safety walk rounds and corrective measures.
* Target safety critical work. Work safely and methodically at all times.
* Use and fully understand the PTW system where required.
* Manage relevant contractors.
* Use and fully understand the Management Of Change system where required.
Candidate Criteria:
* Previous experience within the Industrial Gas Sector, Chemical and Oil industry along with experience of processes on COMAH related sites.
* A solid background and experience in Mechanical Engineering.
* Knowledge and previous use of CMMS is essential.
* Good knowledge/understanding of plant/process Instrumentation and controls, electrical components and systems, and safety systems.
* Knowledge of Pressure Safety Systems Regulation and written schemes is essential.
* Ability to work on own initiative to organise, prioritise work under a pressurised environment and adapt readily in response to operational changes.
* Attention to accuracy and knowledge of Management Of Change Procedures.
* Previous experience of Permit To Work systems and RAMS.
* Disciplined and structured.

* Preferred Qualifications are HND/HNC in an Engineering subject or relevant experience backed up with completed Engineering Apprenticeship.
* IOSH working safely or NEBOSH would be desirable.
* Knowledge of Cryogenic processes and cryogenic storage and pumping systems would be desirable.
* Compressor and Cooling systems knowledge would be desirable.
* The use of Computer Purchasing systems and SAP would be desirable.
* Knowledge of maintenance software systems.
* Full clean driving license.
