Qualifications, skills and experience: Required Proven experience in managing large scale IT programmes in a complex, multi-national IT environment including managing multiple simultaneous projects. Proven experience of leveraging technology to capitalise on business opportunities by aligning IT programmes with overall business strategy. Strong analytical skills to tackle complex problems with ability to adapt and find pragmatic solutions. Experience of delivering IT projects using a blend of internal staff and 3rd party implementation partners. Experience of managing complex IT project budgets. Knowledge of the key challenges to be managed when delivering complex IT programmes to support business change. Ability to articulate ideas, concepts and concerns to technology specialists, IS Management, colleagues outside ISD and to board members. Proven experience leading, motivating and managing a team of dedicated IT professionals. Strong leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams including conflict resolution and decision-making skills. Experience in training and mentoring project managers. Main Responsibilities: Programme Management Responsible for the coordinated planning and delivery of a group of projects supporting wider business change objectives. Proactively manages dependencies between projects and other programmes. Work with business sponsors to ensure that projects are properly defined at initiation stage and that there are clearly defined business cases covering both tangible and intangible benefits. This includes supporting business stakeholders to manage the impact of IT changes on business processes and users. Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives whilst keeping within approved budget and agreed timescales. This includes collaboration with senior leadership to prioritise initiatives. Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues in ISD to ensure that deliverables are in line with wider architecture, security and design principles. Identify, assess and mitigate risks that may impact programme delivery by developing risk management plans and contingency strategies. Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with senior managers throughout the organisation, ensuring that the IT strategy aligns with the business strategy and is supported by appropriate budgeting. An effective communicator, able to communicate complex IT concepts in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organisation including board level executives. This may include interactions with stakeholders and associates in Japan. Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive updates on project progress, budget status and risks to business stakeholders, IS Management and company senior managers. Transformation Experience of working in a leadership role in transformational change programmes. Drive the adoption of innovative practices enhancing project delivery and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the department. Engage with external partners and technology vendors to identify opportunities and/or best practices initiatives. Team Leadership Recruit, motivate, lead and manage a team of project managers and business / functional analysts ensuring both successful project outcomes but also maximising the contribution from your team. This includes fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Ensure that clear development plans are in place for all team members, business objectives are set and regular review of progress against these plans are performed. As a key member of the IS Management team, contribute to wider strategy discussions beyond your own direct responsibilities. Compliance & Governance Provide ongoing coaching to Project Managers and other team members to ensure adherence to development standards, governance and overall ways of working. Work collaboratively with PMO to allocate resources effectively across projects, ensuring teams have the necessary skills and capacity. In line with Procurement, Legal & Compliance standards, manage the selection and engagement with multiple 3rd party system integrators to deliver programmes and projects. Ensure robust contractual agreements are in place but more importantly build strong relationships to ensure that objectives are met. Desirable Bachelors degree in IT or equivalent Programme Management certifications. Familiarity with a range of industry-standard project management methods.
