Wireless Network Engineer / Wireless Engineer / Wireless Specialist / Wifi & Network Engineer

We are excited to be working with a well-respected and forward-thinking healthcare organization in Wales. As the organization continues to expand its operations and technological footprint, they are seeking a talented Wireless Network Engineer to join their growing team and help build out their wireless/wifi infrastructure and capability. As part of a critical team within the organization’s IT infrastructure division, you will play a key role in developing and implementing the wireless network strategy and roadmap. You will lead the design, installation, configuration, testing, and optimization of the wireless network, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a lead specialist in wireless networking on a large digital transformation project.
* Jointly develop and implement the data network strategy and roadmap, aligning with the health board's vision and objectives.
* Lead the lifecycle design, installation, configuration, testing, assurance, and optimization of the wireless network, ensuring high availability, performance, and security through to safe disposal.
* Manage the data network operations, including monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
* Lead and co-ordinate wireless network projects.
About You:
* Strong hands-on experience in network support or a related field.
* Experience in data network engineering, including design, installation, configuration, testing, optimization, and troubleshooting.
* Experience in leading and co-ordinating data network projects.
* Proven expertise in Cisco technologies, including routing, switching, security, wireless, and data networking.
* Strong knowledge of wired and wireless networks, with prior experience delivering wireless/Wi-Fi projects.
* Experience in the use of Ekahau or similar wireless optimization tools is desirable.
* Experience in data network engineering in the healthcare sector, or in a large and complex organization is also desirable.
* Ideally, although not essential, at least one recognized certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CWSP, CWDP, or ITIL V3 Foundation.
