As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the opportunity to bring our John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, appliances, sound systems, and TVs as part of a two-person delivery team. Position: Permanent
Location: South Central (Southampton)
Salary: Starting rates: Driver Trainee £28,646/year, Installer £32,149/year, Technician £34,353/year.
Note: Applicants must be over 18 due to role requirements.
Driver Trainee Responsibilities
* Complete a 12-month training program to become a qualified Customer Delivery Installer.
* Provide excellent customer service and represent the John Lewis brand.
* Assist with loading deliveries and collaborate with warehouse staff.
* Respect customer homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Note: Role involves heavy lifting of large items like sofas and appliances.
Essential Skills for Driver Trainee
* UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Interest in technology and installation.
Desirable Skills for Driver Trainee
* Experience in installation and customer delivery driving.
Driver Installer Responsibilities
Start at the hub, then on route responsibilities include:
* Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Load deliveries with warehouse support.
* Respect customer homes and resolve issues professionally.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
* Keep up-to-date with new products and maintain safety.
Note: Heavy lifting involved, delivering large items.
Skills for Driver Installer
* Manual C1 UK driving license (up to 6 points).
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
* Experience in customer-facing roles.
* Good communication skills and understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills for Driver Installer
* Experience with white goods installation, TV setup, and furniture assembly.
