Requirements:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
4. MSc or BSc in chemistry or related field
5. Evidence of strong academic or industrial achievement required
6. Evidence of experience in successful application of analytical/physical skill sets to resolve such simple problems such as those require within the role.
7. Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams
8. Competency in core laboratory skills
9. Competency in the routine use of core instrumentation and laboratory techniques
Desirable:
10. Experience is not a prerequisite but typically up to 2 years prior academic or industrial laboratory experience
11. Experience in a GMP or GLP environment
Key roles and responsibilities:
12. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment to solve simple to moderately complex analytical issues for assigned projects / or initiatives with guidance from a scientific supervisor / Line Manager.
13. Develop your own scientific competency in the core analytical laboratory skills to support API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) batch release, development and / or scale up of chemical processes in assigned projects
14. With oversight and support from a scientific supervisor / Line Manager design, plan and execute testing, interpret results, and plan additional testing in a timely manner to solve assigned problems of simple to moderate complexity.
15. Develop the ability to actively participate in the development of new technologies or methodologies and with guidance, apply these as appropriate, within the functional area.
16. Develop your own capabilities, demonstrating and applying sound understanding of the application of all available analytical tools and techniques which positively contribute to API batch release, development and / or scale up of chemical processes.
17. Document and report results of all testing in a manner consistent with department practices and governing procedures.
18. Act as system owner of equipment and instrumentation, including supporting qualification.
19. Follow all key internal business practices and external regulations governing the role (e.g. GxP), and adhere to all policies governing the business activities.
20. Support departmental or site audits as directed by manager/supervisor as necessary and within skills and ability capacity and undertake additional activities as assigned by the scientific supervisor / Line Manager.

Our Cramlington site, just north of Newcastle, has an established history of cGMP
manufacturing services for an array of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), ranging from pilot scale to commercial metric ton scale. The Cramlington Site has more than 100 cubic meters reactor commercial capacity and has been inspected and approved by the MHRA, FDA and other regulatory authorities. The site operates from small scale in the laboratory through to large manufacturing scale. It also offers chemistry and analytical development service.
