Join AESC as a Process Engineer. We are the world's leading battery technology company and lithium-ion battery manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the North East's highest-profile manufacturing plants as we are expanding our operations at our battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland. We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Engineering team to support current production as well as the development and operation of a world-class and innovative mass manufacturing Gigafactory. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.
Overview:
Working as a Process Engineer as part of the core project team, to deliver the UK's first 'at scale Gigafactory'. Responsible for the delivery of a specified zone, from design to mass production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Represent engineering department in all aspects from initial project phase to mass production of the Gigafactory.
2. Lead the development of a manufacturing zone, working within a multi-disciplined team.
3. Develop processes from design to integration and implementation, attending design reviews and working with equipment suppliers.
4. The successful Process Engineer candidates will have a broad-based experience in manufacturing and be able to demonstrate proven skills in the application of process engineering.
5. The job will involve working as an integral part of a multi-discipline cross functional team and require skills in the following areas:
6. Set & Measure process performance which are class leading, challenging but achievable.
7. Agree quality strategies to achieve KPI and quality targets.
8. Provide / Approve the process engineering documentation necessary to allow standard operations to be followed at all stages of production.
9. Planning, Schedule Control & Project Management.
10. Procurement of production facilities & processes.
11. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Skills
1. Good inter-communication & report writing skills.
2. Computer literate, MS project, Excel etc.
3. Able to demonstrate a positive and logical attitude.
4. Good negotiation skills.
5. Planning, Schedule Control & Project Management.
6. The capacity to quickly learn and absorb new technologies.
Education
1. Technical Degree / Certificate or equivalent.
Additional
1. The ability to represent the engineering perspective within a multi-disciplined cross function team and introducing cutting edge manufacturing processes is essential.
2. Demonstrate management of contractors, and interfacing with potential equipment suppliers.
3. The ability to travel domestically and internationally as and when required.
4. The desire for personal future growth.
Specific Technical Skills
1. Experience in complex technical manufacturing processes and/or special purpose assembly machines would be a distinct advantage.
2. Previous experience in high volume manufacture, clean/dry room experience is preferred but not essential.
3. Knowledge of current legislation of machinery standards.
4. Experience working within APQP, IAFT framework desirable.
