The team at Holme-Upon-Spalding Moor Primary School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our forward-looking and friendly school community.
This part-time role will focus on providing one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and occasional challenging behaviour. A commitment to positive approaches for behaviour and an interest in facilitating outdoor learning and how this supports the mental well-being of pupils is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help them thrive.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies that support the pupil's emotional and social well-being.
* Adapt and facilitate engaging activities that capture the pupil's interest and promote learning.
* Encourage the inclusion of the pupil within the wider classroom environment and support small groups of children as needed.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children with specific educational needs, particularly SEMH.
* Can build positive and nurturing relationships with children, motivating them to learn and grow.
* Treats all pupils with kindness, fairness, and dignity.
* Communicates effectively with parents and carers to support the child's development.
* Can identify and implement strategies to help children achieve their next steps in learning.
* Is interested in using outdoor learning and recognises the benefits of this.
