We are recruiting a Residential Support Worker to join our client’s team for a new service opening in Swindon. About the Role: As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people who have experienced challenging circumstances. You will work as part of a committed team to promote their well-being, personal development, and independence. Key Responsibilities: • Provide day-to-day care and support to children in a residential setting. • Build positive relationships and act as a role model for young people. • Implement care plans and support individual development needs. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, and other professionals. • Support children with their education, emotional well-being, and life skills. • Manage challenging behaviors using a trauma-informed approach. • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding policies. • Participate in team meetings, training, and development opportunities. Requirements: • Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards this qualification • Proven experience working in a residential childcare setting. • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. • Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts. • A full UK driving license (preferred but not essential).
