We are looking for a full time B5 speech and language therapists to be working in one of our exciting rotational posts.
The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work alongside peers and develop their core skills in a rotational role across several pathways including early childhood development, complex needs - physical and sensory and community speech and language therapy.

Main duties of the job
* To independently manage, with access to support from more senior colleagues, a caseload of patients with developmental communication and acquired disorders of speech, language and communication.
* The provision of a speech and language therapy service of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of developmental communication disorders and acquired disorders of speech, language and communication.
* To provide appropriate intervention and evaluate outcomes.
* To provide advice to relatives, early years and school staff and other professionals on matters relating to the speech, language and communication needs of individual patients.
* To set up and monitor programmes to be carried out by other key workers.
* To write reports reflecting specialist knowledge.

CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by TSDFT and DPT. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework, in response to consultation with our service users and communities.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.

Ability to travel efficiently around the Bay is important in order to carry out your duties (e.g. Full driving licence and access to vehicle).
Person Specification
Qualifications and training
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
* Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups
Knowledge and experience
* Relevant experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community / education settings
* Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to working with children
* Well established knowledge of a broad range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to treat children
* Understanding of the principles of clinical governance /audit
* Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group)
