Job Opportunity: Trainee Buyer
Due to successful company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Trainee Buyer to assist the buying department in gathering, analyzing, and submitting material prices for tender submissions and physical purchases for live sites.
Location: Huntingdon (office-based)
Responsibilities
1. Assist the buying department at tender stage by sending price enquiries to prospective suppliers and analyzing responses.
2. Build and develop strategic relationships with suppliers.
3. Develop an understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
4. Assist at live project stage by liaising with suppliers, negotiating, and progressing quotations to secure the best value.
Requirements
* Hold a HNC or degree in a civil engineering related discipline.
* Reside within a commutable distance from Huntingdon.
* No previous buying experience necessary; must be a team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook; skills in Access and SharePoint are desirable.
