Position: Project Engineer - Water (X3)
Location: Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire
Salary Guide: £40,000 - £55,000 Plus Car/Allowance and Excellent Benefits
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Severn Trent Water. They are looking to recruit three Project Engineers to help deliver projects in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.
You will report to the Project Manager and assist the Project/Construction Manager in coordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy, ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning, and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme. You will also provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
2. Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
3. Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
4. Maintain good client relationships at all levels
5. Assist with the Project Management strategy
6. Establish and maintain the contract filing systems
7. Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports
8. Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals
9. Produce Procurement packages
10. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
11. Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues
12. Monitor subcontract performance
13. Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation
14. Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progression of quality solutions
15. Evaluate innovative solutions and processes
16. Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis
17. Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Engineering qualification
2. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
3. Knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially NEC
4. Working knowledge of all relevant H&S legislation and CDM
5. Ideally working towards professional recognition with a chartered body
6. Experience of the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
7. Experience of supply chain expedition
